A bread stop is included with America’s Bread Slicer. In the case of loss, replacements are available. The bread stop is made from a durable and flexible plastic. It provides a way to easily line up the loaf before starting the cut. Simply place the bread loaf in the slicer with the end of the loaf to be cut just next to the stop, hold the loaf, and cut. Although the bread stop will not break, if pressure is applied it will flex some without causing any damage to the stop.

Bread stop does the job but seems a bit flimsy.
Thanks for the comment Melanie! Yes, the bread stop is flexible but is practically indestructible. It is provided as an optional tool only to line up the loaf to the knife grooves prior to slicing.

We have had our slicer for sometime. Enjoy making all of our own home made breads. This slicer makes it easy to slice the bread. We have found that by putting one of their bread guards on each end of the loaf it is easier to slice the bread evenly.
This is one of the most “hassle free” tools we have in our kitchen.

Works wonderful, Does just what it says. Well worth the money.

I bought a second bread stop use in front of the loaf. Two stops work better for me than one to anchor the loaf in place while slicing.
