About The Auto-Lock System

The bread slicer’s locking system is automatic with no assembly required. To set up, simply rotate the spring loaded knife guides into place; the built in springs will push them into the locking notch and secure them for precise slicing. Once locked in, the knife guides are in place and ready to use. To unlock, simply push the knife guides out of the lock slot and fold them under when done. With 10 slots for thicker slices and 10 slots for thinner slices you can customize each cut to your liking. Simply line up your loaf with the desired slice size and use the bread stop for extra precision. Just hold the loaf in place and slice smoothly. For extra thick slices just skip a slot and you’ll get the perfect oversized cut. For sandwiches, toast or specialty loaves this spring loaded, automatic locking system gives you uniform slices every time.

    Being new to the whole bread making scene I wanted to start off right, or at least on the right foot. My mother-in-law has making home made bread down to a fine art so I have been watching her and will hopefully do at lease as well. She has a plastic bread slicer that can not bee folded and put away which works for her since she has a lot larger kitchen than me, so when I saw this I had to give it a try, I love being able to cut different thicknesses of bread and the fact that it folds flat for storage is great! I might have to get my mother-in-law one of these!

    Finding this style of board in Canada was impossible. I did not order the knife with the board and found that the blades of our electric knife did not fit the slots for the thinner slices of bread, getting a 10 inch knife in Canada again proved difficult. I think the best recommendation anyone can give a product is when they buy the product again and give it as a gift to someone and I have done that and included the knife as part of the gift. Each time I placed an order I was impressed that the product was shipped within 24 hours or less!

    Makes bread cutting so very easy. Have owned other boards, but this is definitely the best. Wish it had a crumb catcher. That is the only downside. However, I can live without a crumb catcher.

    The Answer is America’s Bread Slicer. Simple, good design and it works great. I bought it in the USA and brought it back to The Netherlands by plane so I had to buy a knife seperately ? This slicer is great and I could en would recommend it to everyone. I only have three minor improvements. I probably push the bread to hard, but a less flexible bread stop would be fine. 2. And because I push to hard, not only a bread stop but also a bread pusher would be nice to have. 3. My bread is smaller than the width of the slicer. It would be nice if you could make something so that the bread couldn’t go anywhere. But, as I said before, this slicer is great!

    This is a great, well-made slicer. It’s sturdy enough to hold up to frequent use in our house. The only thing it doesn’t do is slice VERY thin slices of bread. Sometimes we like to have slices about half the thickness of normal store-bought sandwich bread and we find this slicer doesn’t go that thin. But for all other uses, this slicer is well worth the money. It’s the last slicer we’ll ever have to buy!

    I’ve had America’s Bread Slicer for several months now and don’t know how I functioned without it. I do like that there is 2 options for the thickness of your slice. Most other slicing guides only have 1/2″ slots. It is well made, and I’m glad I made the purchase. If you don’t own an appropriate bread knife, purchase the one offered. I already own that knife, so I didn’t buy it. It does a great job slicing. As another reviewer stated, the only way to make this Slicer better would be to have a less flexible bread stop. I have to take care that I don’t push too hard on the bread. I’m afraid I’ll break it the first wood prongs if I continuously put pressure on them. Don’t get me wrong, the slicer is well made
