Rotate the spring-loaded knife guides to their open position.
Insert the bread stop.
Position the loaf and securely hold it in place.
Remove the bread stop.
Push both knife guides out of the retaining notch.
Rotate the knife guides under for compact storage.
The bread stop is there just to line up the loaf before slicing. For best results, do not FORCE the loaf against the stop WHILE CUTTING, it will cause uneven and crooked sliced bread. Just gently place the loaf, then hold it while slicing.

Before using America’s slicer I had a hard time cutting uniform slices. This tool makes it so easy. The convenience of being able to fold it and store it away is worth the extra cost. The 1/2 inch side is perfect for sandwiches and 3/4 side for toast. If I want it larger I just slice it myself.

Seems to be well thought through, and a quality product. I like having the two options for slice sizes. Stores quickly and easily when I am done. I am slicing slightly smaller loaves than the 9″ pan. No issue positioning or holding the loaf while I am slicing.
I make a loaf of bread every week. Slicing it evenly was a chore. Two weeks ago I was slicing a loaf of bread and sliced the top of my thumb in the process. That was enough to send me onto the Internet to find a bread slicer. Found America’s Bread Slicer and never looked back. The first time I used it I realized my bread knife wasn’t long enough. Back to the Internet and bought a 14″ bread knife. Overkill yes but, I love it. Made a loaf of bread yesterday and got out the new slicer . Sliced the whole loaf in less than a minute and no missing fingers! Bigger really is better.
I have tried several bread slicing guides and while some have been very good, America’s Bread Slicer has provided all the best features into one guide. The only thing I had to change was purchasing a longer knife – I recommend at least a 12 inch. I especially like the fact that it can be folded and put away in a drawer. At first I thought the price a little high but as I make my bread scratch (I don’t remember ever seeing a bread machine) I appreciate the savings of even slices and no waste. As a Male in my 70’s with failing eye sight, I do appreciate the uniformity.
This was the first slicer I bought basically from the reviews. We started making our own bread and this is a great unit to use to make uniform slices for the whole loaf. We purchased an extra stop to keep the loaf from moving and keeps all slices together making it easy to bag after cutting. Folds up easily and takes up very little space in storage.
I got your slicing guide today and it is really nice. I wish I had measured my old bread knife because it’s only 8″. So now I’m ordering the 10″ bread knife to keep from pulling the blade through and ordering the bread bags (the only bread bags I can get around here are only 14″ long. I love to see a local company producing a quality product.
Great to use with our homemade bread. Can get nice even slices, thick or thin. You can use two slots on the thin side to get a nice thicker slide too. Well made, easy to use and store.
I’ve had other bread slicing guides I’ve used over the years and none of them compare to how nice this unit is to use. Having the choice of two different thicknesses is marvelous. I was also very glad to be able to buy a product that was made in the US. You should be very proud of the high quality product you produce for a more than reasonable price.
